If All You Want is to Park Your Domain Name, then that's Option 1.
|
|

|
| Yep! That's me, thinking what a great deal this is. |
|
Once you send us your requested domain name(s) via email, we will lead
you through the Domain Direct setup.
Once everything is in place, Domain Direct will send you your domain name URL and new email address as
confirmation. We'll let you know where everything is located so you can signon and approve your setup. Don't forget,
you can use PayPal.Com to pay me.
BTW - this fee does NOT include domain registration fees.
|
Option 1 Specifics:
We will do the work to:
- Register your domain name (website address or URL). All you need is what you'd like to call it (e.g., www.your-websiteonline.com).
- Do the setup for your new web identity account. A web identity account is one where you don't actually
have a website, but you have reserved the domain name so nobody else can use it. It's the one that comes with a POP email
account.
- Do the setup for your new email account (with forwarding if need be).
- Set up subdomain email account forwarding (if you'd like to include other family members on your domain name account).
- Lead you through the steps you'll need to set up your email program (e.g., Outlook Express) so you'll be able to download
your email messages from the POP servers.
All of that for a measly $125. What a deal.
RECOMMENDATIONS for Option 1:
1. Don't use your ISP email address as the email address on your business card, use your new domain name address. Take
advantage of the email forwarding feature of your new domain name account, and
forward your email to your current ISP account. Then, if you ever change ISP's, all you have to do is reset your email
forward to the new ISP address, and you won't have to change your business cards.
2. Under either option 1 or 2, you're in control over your own account. Any updates, major
or minor, can be done by you. If, however, you'd like me to do subsequent maintenance, then for that we have to charge
extra. So once we're complete, you're not really on your own. The web hosting service we use, Domain Direct has website building tools that are so easy to use, you'll find you won't really need me once you're up and running.
3. If and when you do decide you want to go to Option 2, then all fees charged for Option 1 will be credited towards
Option 2.

If you want me to ALSO help you build your web site, then that's OPTION 2.
Specifics for Option 2:
Everything Option 1 includes, plus:
With your help and direction, we'll actually build you your website. We'll build you a maximun of 5 pages that will include:
- Your Home Page
- Your Contact Page
- An "About Me" Page
- Your Choice of Content Page 1
- Your Choice of Content Page 2
This will have to be a collaborative effort. You and I will work together to get this site built. You'll
provide me with the actual content for each page, including pictures. The wording will have to be yours. You can use Microsoft
Word as the text processor. Pictures you can send me via email attachments.
Normally, the web navigation will be very simple, just like this site. All links are from the navigation bar.
Besides the Home, Contact, and About Me pages, I'll also need to know what you'd like to name the other 2 content pages.
I'll also need to know the content for each, again using Word.
Note: Your new URL will always take your visitor to your Home page first.
RECOMMENDATIONS for Option 2:
1. We highly recommend "masking" when activating domain forwarding. That way, when your browser is forwarded to the actual
website where your website is
stored, your URL or web address remains in the browsers'
address window, "masking" the true web address of where we've posted your website. Of course, if all you're doing is "registering" your
domain name, then this becomes a moot point. But if we do build you a website, then masking looks a lot more professional.
However, this is really only necessary under option 2 wherein we're building you a website.
2. If you'd like additional pages, then refer to our Cost Considerations page for more details.
3. Content will NOT include Javascript, Flash, ASP, database SQL requirements, or Merchant Account capabilities. These
are in a totally different realm and are out of the scope of what we're doing here.
4. Be advised, our fee do NOT incude domain registration fees. Those are separate and must
be borne by you. For that, I'll lead you through the registration process so you can use your own credit card for payment.
This point is crucial because we want you to be the domain owner and promary point of contact, not me.
PAYMENT?
Depending on your option, I'll just invoice you, and you can send a check, money order, or use PayPal. If you want to use credit cards, you can use them through PayPal. If you use payPal, my account email
address is dick@shagmiser.com.
For a more comprehensive explanation on payments, refer to the What Does it Cost page.
